Hello, my name is Jenna Loew, and I am a second-year graduate student at Adelphi. I attended SUNY Geneseo for my undergraduate degree and currently hold dual certification in Early Childhood and Childhood Education. Last year, I worked as a full-time substitute in the Lynbrook School District and will continue there this year as a Teaching Assistant. I am from Wantagh, and outside of teaching, I enjoy going to the beach, taking Pilates classes, and spending time with my nieces.
I believe technology plays a significant role in teaching and developing engaging lessons. During my time as a permanent substitute last year, I took over a leave replacement position as the library and technology teacher. In this role, I incorporated technology by having students post on online forums, create digital posters and slideshows, use videos and online books for read-alouds, and even complete a coding unit. I think technology is a great way to make lessons more hands-on and is essential for preparing students to be successful. I am also very interested in using technology as a form of assessment, through platforms such as Kahoot, Blooket, and more.
